Marin Bozhkov graduated from the Faculty of Law at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” with an LL.M. in 1993. Since then, he has established himself as a prominent legal expert, holding key management and advisory positions within the Bulgarian Privatization Agency (1994), the Securities and Stock Exchange Commission (1997), and the Center for Mass Privatization (1999). Since 2002, he has served as a specialist for the Economic Committee at the Bulgarian Parliament.

Practical areas:

Mr. Bozhkov’s extensive practice areas include commercial and corporate law, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and corporate restructuring. He possesses deep expertise in administrative law, specific tax regimes, and the commercial activities of foreign entities. He is highly regarded for his ability to solve problems of high practical and legal complexity, as well as his proficiency in due diligence, media law, and process management. Furthermore, his professional reach extends to crisis management, investment project management, municipal law, and the development of electronic government and legislative procedures.

Throughout his career, Mr. Bozhkov has been an active participant in the most significant economic processes in Bulgaria over the last 25 years. He played a central role in both mass privatization—through the sale of entire enterprises and separate assets—and the trading of securities on regulated and unregulated markets. Between 1994 and 2004, he contributed directly to the drafting of the legislative acts and regulations that defined these sectors, providing him with a unique “inside” perspective on the establishment of the modern Bulgarian economy.

Beyond his practical work, Mr. Bozhkov has authored more than 30 articles in specialized legal journals and mainstream media. He has also delivered three distinct cycles of lectures: “Legal Analysis of Enterprises and Separate Parts,” “Restructuring and Sale of Enterprises,” and “Economic Crisis Management.” Today, he is an acknowledged authority on complex commercial deals, capital markets, and corporate restructuring, as well as a renowned analyst of political processes and election legislation.
